We, a group of developers adopted the CAB framework, are very interested in the future of the CAB compability with .Net 3 and WFP.

Could you please give us some clue on this? What would be your plan?

Thanks a lot.

On .NET 3.0 Framework: .NET 3.0 doesn't affect the Windows Forms technology, which is what CAB is built to utilize out of the box. Our shop (which uses CAB) has been using WCF since the CTP's and we've been using the .NET 3.0 Framework since it was released. There's been no issues with it in regards to CAB compatibility.

On WPF: CAB is designed out of the box to work with Windows Forms. But the developers designed it to potentially work with other technologies in the .Net Framework. I've been told that some groups within Microsoft have actually converted CAB to work with WPF for their own purposes, so it can be done.

There's a WPF conversion layer for CAB here on Codeplex: http://www.codeplex.com/wpfcab. You may want to check that out if you intend to use CAB with WPF.
