Our Smart Client application will be installed on a Web Server along with some other applications that share common DLLs in the GAC.

Is it possible to tell the Manifest that certain files are in the GAC of the web server? Also, is it possible to pull files from differnt file base folders to be sent out to the client instead of having all the files in one folder?

Thanks.

Hi,

yes it is possible to pull files from different file base folders to be sent out to the client instead of having all the files in one folder.

For this you have to create multiple manifest files for corresponding folders that have the files base entry pointing to respective folders.
there after you can include these manifest files in main manifest file.

for more information on how to includes multiple manifests in main manifest refer to MSI Quick start shipped with application block.
