Installing UAB in the GAC

Hello All,

I have an MSI that installs my app. I want to install the UAB assemblys in the GAC so that I don't have to include them on every update.

I have a key file and I specified it in the assemblyinfo file and recompiled the source. The assemblies are now strong named, however, the updater will not work now.

Has anyone done this and could shed some light on the correct process to give the UAB a strong name?

TIA

More info:

After some further investigation, it seems that the problem lies in the UAB's inability to read the application config file when running from the GAC.

If I place the UAB assemblys in the app directory, all works well. But once I drag them into the GAC I get a Configuration read error.

Very weird :(

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andrew
