Can anyone tell me how can I test the quickstart SimpleAppStart??

This is what I am doing
1. I created a virtual directory in my IIS and point to QuickStart folder.
2. I launched the client side code in the VS2005 and debugged the code to see how it works. I am getting "The operation timeout" when it reaches the update is requested.

Is this approach wrong?

Thanks.

That sounds correct. you should be able to hit the manifest file through IE, at
http://localhost/Updater2QuickStarts/cs/SimpleAppStart/server/manifests.xml
if that doesn't show the xml, then you have a IIS configuration issue, eg permissions.

Thanks Mike, yes I am able to see the manifest file through the url. But I am still getting the error through. Is there anything else I need to change in the IIS that you know of?

my only other thought is that the wrong authentication might be getting used (or anonymous authentication is denied for the vdir).
Try breaking in manifestmanager.DownloadFile and ensure that anonymous auth is being used, and/or change the auth setting in IIS to allow anonymous access.
