Has there been any discussion here about using CAB with .NET Remoting? Specifically I am interested in if anyone has used it for their UI in a classical multi-layer/multi-tier application architecture.

What I would like to do is have our business objects hosted in IIS on an application server and access them via proxies as Marshal by Reference objects. At some point we also expect to convert to WCF from Remoting so we plan to keep our use of Remoting pretty vanilla.

Any ideas would be welcome.

I'm using CAB with remoting. What I have done is create a service that lives in the root workitem which all workitems and presenters use (mostly presenters). This CAB remoting service retrieves information from the IIS remoting service. There is really not much difference from the way it was done before, just now you use a CAB service with the same code you had doing it the old winforms way. Then use depenency injection to get the service in CAB.
