Since the CommandMap.xsd, CommandMap.cs and the SampleCommandMap.xml are at the heart of this demo code, how and in what order were these files created.

I can not find any info on which file do you start with and how do you go about the creation.

I know about xsd.exe but need some guidance. If you want to start from scratch you need this info.

thanks and forgive the wining and fustration.

CommandMap.xsd and CommandMap.cs are the schema and classes that define the format that will be read by another component that will build the commands from the configuration. You don't ever need to manipulate them in any way.

You only need to fill the SampleCommandMap.xml file with the definitions of commands you wish to have, that's all.

To clarify Daniel's comment:

When we created this code, we first created the CommandMap.xsd file, then we used XSD.EXE to generate CommandMap.cs class file. That class is basically an XmlSerializer data transfer class that is compatible with the XML Schema defined in the XSD file. As Daniel points out, to use this QuickStart you only need to add data to the XML file.

If you were looking to do something similar to this with your own XML Schema, however, you would probably want to do the whole process.

best of luck,

Peter
