Hi all! looks like there is a CAB alternative:
I have downloaded their Al platform and build the quick starts. Looks like the framework they provide is much more easy to use and much more flexible. They promise to provide some kind of universal UI, meaning our forms and menus will be rendered identically on any GUI we will use (even in Excel?). The thing I liked more was the unified menu (main, context, toolbar, statusbar). It's easy to insert menu items, and to work with them. The Tools quick start is quite interesting. State buttons remember their state - well, looks good! What do you think regarding agile-sys al platform? Is that promising?

jastron, I read the description and looked at the pictures available on the site you outlined. Well, I think you're right - AL Platform serves the same purpose as CAB does. As I see it, the main difference is that CAB does not provide much in respect to non-standard .NET GUI components. I guess AL Platform might become popular. There are some interesting features CAB lacks in. At the same time, CAB is an approved technology. Anyway, we always have a choice!

I see... BTW, did you try the Explicit mvc ( You don't need to decorate class methos with attributes any more. You simple invoke the public member of your class, and all update listeners are notified! With no object builders - weird!

Hmm.. you guys sound like you really like that framework. You wouldn't happen to be the developers that created it now would you? :)

Bitwise, my guess is jastron was one of those who developed the Framework. Anyway, isn't it a public community? ;) However, the question was - is that an alternative? I believe Yes it is. In any case, do you personally think CAB needs some improvement?
