With the recent release of Visual Studio 2008, are there any known compatibility issues with the CAB/SCSF guidance/extensions packages?

Follow the steps in these links:

For VS 2008 Release you have to change devenv.exe.config (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe.config) like this:

<dependentAssembly>
<assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft.VisualStudio.TemplateWizardInterface" publicKeyToken="b03f5f7f11d50a3a" culture="neutral" />
<bindingRedirect oldVersion="0.0.0.0-8.9.9.9" newVersion="8.0.0.0" />
</dependentAssembly>

Worked perfect for me.

Hope it works for you too!

Hi Marcus.

Once you install SC-SF with Visual Studio 2008, you can see the following posts about the possible workarounds you can apply to fix the known issues:

Also, you can see this post about how to install the SC-SF source code:

Hope it helps.

Bernhard,
Thanks for the devenv.exe.config hack, I had been fighting with the templates not showing in VS2008 RTM all morning. It worked for me as well. I can now work on my CAB/SCSF project this weekend.

THANKS SO MUCH!!
